Description

On my vacation on Sylt (GER) I travelled a lot to explore some great points of this island. On this day I went to a small town near mine where my hotel was. It's called Rantum and has a lovely beach with a lot of "Buhnen", in english it should be "spur dikes". This one here attracted my interest.

Wow! My first DD! Thanks very much to =robkit and =r3novatio for suggesting and ^Anoya for featuring it!

I cannot believe that this photograph has been taken in Germany!
No, never.
You made such a great job in arranging a new reality, that as a observer you feel like in the Carribean. The lightblue water, the "Spur Dikes", how you call them, make this scene mysteriuos. It seems to be like a graveyard in the Ocean. But it does not transmit a negativ feeling, no, the opposite: it transports the feeling of wanting to go far away. The picture expresses a endlessness you do not find everywhere.

Furthermore, I really like the symmetry; it is not 50/50 (sky/water), but that is what makes the picture more vivid than static.
Maybe, a better structured sky - I refer to the clouds - would have made the picture perfect.
The overexposured clouds tend to express something distracting.
Perhaps, the next time you submit a perfect cloud picture, only for me! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
I would appreciate that. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>

Regards from Berlin.
